Choosing a Class
The age recommendations outlined for classes have been carefully constructed to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the semester for the class in which you are enrolling. If you have concerns about your child’s success in a particular age range, we are happy to discuss your child’s needs and to work with you to place him in the class best suited for him.

Register Early
Although you may join our classes at any time, please register early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly. Registering at least three weeks before the semester begins also ensures that we will have your child’s materials for you at your first class. If you enroll after the semester begins, tuition will be pro-rated accordingly.

Enrollment Confirmation
A registration form and payment must be received before enrollment can be confirmed. You will receive a phone call, e-mail or mailed notice within two weeks to confirm your registration.

Payments / Late Fees / Delinquent Payments
Payments must be made according to the payment plan selected. There is a $10 per month fee for late payments; $30 fee for returned checks.

Refunds
If registration is cancelled 2 weeks or more prior to the start of the semester, a full refund will be issued, minus a $50 fee. If registration is cancelled LESS than 2 weeks prior to the start of a semester, a 50% refund will be issued, minus a $50 fee. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED once the semester has begun.

Cancellations and Make-up Classes
Classes will be made up at the end of the semester in the event of teacher cancellation or inclement weather. You will be notified of the cancellation and the scheduled make-up day. Cancellations will be listed on WTNH Channel 8 and on their website, www.wtnh.com. It will also be announced on the studio’s outgoing phone message by 7:30 am for morning classes and by 12:00 noon for afternoon classes. We are happy to allow students who miss a class to make up

that class if another class of the same level is available (up to three per semester). Make-up classes must be used before the end of the semester and may not be applied to future sessions. In order to be eligible for a make-up you must notify us of your absence in advance. In addition, make-up classes must be scheduled with the office in advance. Drop-ins will not be allowed unless approved by the director in advance.

Non-enrolled Siblings.
Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class settings, Village and Our Time classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay contented in a car carrier or stroller. Emergency exceptions are certainly understood. Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes

Plan to arrive about 5 minutes early for class. Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the musical environment as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music. We do request that toys, juice cups, and pacifiers be kept out of sight (with the exception of Village classes) and that snacks be finished prior to class. Be sure to dress comfortably and keep in mind that no street shoes are allowed in the carpeted classrooms.

During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in class and at home are key to facilitating musical learning and growth.

We love for parents to visit before or after class, but please refrain from socializing during class time. When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic participant in the class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully as well.

You and your child will benefit enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use or your At Home Materials. Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference in a child’s comfort and participation in the classroom.

Facility—Safety and Courtesy
We are a peanut-free facility. Please do not bring nuts or nut products into the waiting room or studio!

If you are waiting in the waiting area during Imagine That! and Young Child classes, you are welcome to bring siblings, but please help them to find quiet activities. You may want to bring books, drawing papers, homework or other quiet activities from home. Please also remind your children that the benches are for sitting and not for standing or jumping. Please limit your children to dry snacks and water and clean up after yourselves after class. There is no trash can provided, so whatever you bring into Music for Little Hands you must also take out with you.

There is plenty of parking behind the building (walk down the stairway) or at the far end of the building (walk down the sidewalk). Please do not park beside the grass.

So we may remain good neighbors with the other businesses in the complex, please do not allow your children to climb the railings, play on the stairs, or run up and down the sidewalk deck.
