Meet the Educators
Leslie Waddell is the founder and owner of Music for Little Hands and is beginning her tenth year as a Kindermusik Educator. She began her musical education as a flute student at the age of ten and went on to earn her Bachelor of Music Degree in flute performance at the New England Conservatory. She currently performs with the New Haven and Ridgefield Symphony Orchestras. Over 20 years of experience teaching the flute, coaching chamber music, directing festivals and camps, and performing with a variety of different musical organizations, Leslie was led to realize that her true passion is using music to reach children and families at the most basic level while helping to stimulate cognitive, physical, emotional & social development, nurturing the bond within a family and a community, and fostering a love of music to reach through the generations. Miss Leslie teaches all levels of Kindermusik at the Monroe studio and lives in Fairfield with her husband and daughter.

Scarlett Taylor is a native of Memphis, Tennessee where she began her musical studies on her mother’s lap. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Cameron University with a major in vocal performance and minors in theater arts and piano. Her first position as a professional musician was as Director of Choirs at First Presbyterian Church in Lawton, Oklahoma. Scarlett’s favorite position as a vocalist was with Nebraska Choral Arts Society in Omaha, Nebraska under the direction of world renowned conductor and composer Randall Z. Stroope. During her years as the wife of a US Army Officer, she continued her professional pursuits as a soloist and choral director for adult and childrens choirs in Hawaii. Once settled in Connecticut, she earned her Kindermusik license, joined Music for Little Hands in 2005 and is currently pursuing her Montessori certification as a complement to her Kindermusik experience. Scarlett lives in Shelton with her husband, their two sons and her new Australian Shepherd puppy. Miss Scarlett teaches Kindermusik Village, Kindermusik Our Time, Kindermusik Imagine That! and Kindermusik for the Young Child at our Monroe studio.

Mary Buzak lives in Bethel with her husband and two daughters where she has run a thriving piano studio for six years. She teaches piano students of all levels using a program which she has designed and implemented while maintaining an active schedule as pianist and singer at St. Mary Church in Bethel. She feels that one of her greatest strengths as a Kindermusik Educator, in addition to her extensive work with children and her Kindermusik training, is her training with the Parent Leadership Training Institute, a civic leadership initiative which seeks to enable parents to become leading advocates for children in the community. Mary received her musical training at the New England Conservatory in Boston and earned her Bachelor Degree at Simmons College. Miss Mary teaches Kindermusik Village, Kindermusik Our Time and Kindermusik Imagine That! at our New Milford and Oxford locations.
